OTTAWA – Ottawa Glandorf senior to be Katie Kaufman made her college choice known on Tuesday as she will be heading to play at Malone University.
Kaufman will rejoin older sister Erin on the court and play together for two seasons similar to the pairs team up at Ottawa Glandorf.
Last season Katie Kaufman as a junior was named to the All-WBL first team and second team All-Ohio after averaging nearly 10 points and five rebounds per game while leading the Titans to a 23-4 record and a second straight conference championship.
Titan coach Troy Yant remarked on the announcement “I’m very happy for Katie, she has worked hard to develop her game and put herself in a position to play basketball at the next level. I’m excited for her senior season and the growth not only of her game but her leadership. By choosing Malone she will be able to play alongside her sister and make life a little easier on her parents.”
Malone finished 21-10 overall and with a 14-6 mark in their Great Midwest Athletic Conference contests before seeing their campaign come to a stop in the NCAA Midwest Regionals in March with a loss to top ranked Ashland.
Entering her senior season Kaufman leads a talented returning group that has amassed a record of 69-15 overall and 25-2 against the WBL.
OG kicks off their 2023-24 season on Friday, November 24th when they welcome Kalida to town for a non-conference showdown.
