ARCHBOLD – Ottawa Glandorf senior Erin Kaufman became the fifth member of the school’s 1,000 point club Tuesday night as she helped her Titans to a 46-35 road victory at Archbold.
Leading 31-28 with 1:27 remaining in the third period Kaufman took a pass from teammate Carlie Brinkman and split a trio of defenders before flipping a short shot off the glass to join the exclusive list of players to accomplish the feat wearing the Titan blue and gold.

Kaufman joins Sandy (Buddelmeyer) White and daughter Kylie White along with Xavier Women’s Basketball coach Melanie (Halker) Moore, and BGSU senior and all-time leading scorer Kadie Hempfling who recently added 1,000 points to her resume in college as well.
Ottawa Glandorf started the ballgame with a quick lead off the opening tip as a pass from junior Lily Haselman found a cutting Kaufman heading to the basket just ten seconds in to take a 2-0 advantage.
Haselman got in on the scoring for the Titans on the next possession with a basket of her own before Archbold was able to cut the deficit to 4-3 on a triple by Karsyn Hostetler. Though Ottawa Glandorf jumped ahead early in the period they would find themselves behind at the buzzer as a five point run in from Harley Phillips and a shot by Hostetler at the buzzer pushed the hosts ahead 14-13.
Archbold’s offensive output was held to just three points, all free throws in the second quarter as OG kept the Blue Streaks off the board until 1:13 remaining in the half when Addison Moyer knocked down a pair of tosses to cut the deficit to 22-15.
Second stanza markers by Kaufman and Chloe Schroeder helped the Titans on the inside while a triple from freshman wing Kaitlyn Kimmet provided the final piece of a 22-17 halftime lead.
Addi Ziegler controlled the third quarter for the home team as she accounted for 10 of her team high 12 and kept the Blue Streaks within a basket on the scoreboard on two separate makes.
Buckets by Katie Kaufman and a deep ball from Schroeder continually increased the visiting advantage to two possessions before Kaufman reached her personal milestone and added a final basket with :58 to go for a 35-31 lead heading into the fourth.
Similarly to the drought they found themselves experiencing in the second quarter the Blue Streaks again were held to just free throws in the fourth, with the duo of Sophie Rupp and Alayna Perez hitting all four of their combined tosses.
Ottawa Glandorf’s high pressure defense forced multiple turnovers that led to runouts in the final minutes and baskets for Haselman, Katie Kaufman, and an old fashioned three point play by Myka Aldrich with 5:12 remaining that sent the Titans lead into double digits for the first time at 41-31.
Archbold (12-8) will next be in action on Thursday night in their regular season finale against Swanton while Ottawa Glandorf will enter the evening hosting Defiance and seeking a share of the Western Buckeye League title with a win.
Erin Kaufman led all scorers with 14 while younger sister Katie tossed in 11 for her third double figure scoring game of the season.
“Tonight was a bit of an ugly win but I thought Erin played well throughout the game on both ends of the floor and controlled the game while also securing the points necessary to achieve a rare milestone. We’ve got a ways to go with the rest of the team but Erin is clearly the glue holding this team together right now” said OG head coach Troy Yant after the win.
