White joins 1,000 point club as Titans roll past Bath

OTTAWA – Colin White turned Friday the 13th into his night Friday evening as he scored a game high 26 points and became the 13th member of the Ottawa Glandorf 1,000 point club during a 70-25 Titan victory over visiting Bath.

White, a junior splashed home a three from the corner just in front of his teams bench with 5:32 remaining in the third period for his 1,001st point to join a list that includes his head coach Tyson McGlaughlin as well as his mother Sandy and sister Kylie on the girls basketball side.

Ottawa Glandorf raced out to a 26-1 first quarter advantage on the back of a nine point first quarter from Theo Maag that included a slam dunk as well as Caden Erford who finished off the period just in front of the buzzer with a deep three pointer as part of his seven markers.

Bath was held to just a single point in the first eight minutes, a free throw from Trey Crawford with 1:55 remaining that cut the initial lead to 15-1. Unfortunately for the Wildcats their next score would not occur until 6:40 left in the first half as part of a seven point run by Cole Craddock.

Over the course of the second period it was White himself who would become the engine to drive a 48-12 halftime lead as he accounted for 15 of his 21 first half points that surpassed his season average by one before the buzzer.

Sophomore Drake Craddock supplied the Bath offense in the third quarter as he split a pair of free throws and connected on four jumpers for the final of his team high nine points to cut the deficit to 59-19 heading into the fourth.

Nine Titans put markers on the scoreboard over the final 16 minutes of the game, played with a running clock thanks to a larger than 35 point advantage. Of the nine scorers only White with two finished by making more than one basket, the three pointer that sent him over the 1,000 point mark before heading to the bench for the final time after a hug from his mom and dad and a raucous round of applause from the Supreme Court crowd.

Theo Maag added 13 for the Titans while Caden Erford finished the evening with a pair of first half triples on his way to 10 points.

Bath sees their record fall to 1-8 on the season with a 1-3 mark in the Western Buckeye League. Next up for the Wildcats is a return trip to Route 65 on Tuesday evening to Columbus Grove for a non-league showdown with the Bulldogs.

Up next for Ottawa Glandorf (10-2, 4-0) is a Saturday night trip into Lima to battle the Senior High Spartans that can be heard live on WZOQ Radio starting at 7:20pm.
