O’Connor set to lead Musketeer ladies

FORT JENNINGS – First year head coach Sean O’Connor is set to lead Fort Jennings this season and improve on last years 1-22 record.

O’Connor returns seven letter winners from a year ago including juniors Rachel Von Sossan and Carley Von Sossan who project to be featured predominantly in the Musketeers offensive plans this season.

Joining the Von Sossan’s are returning letter winners Aubrey Jacomet, a senior and junior Regan Ricker as well as sophomores Abigail Browning, Lydia Dickman, and Hannah Grote.

“Although we are a young team, we are experienced and ready” said O’Connor on the outlook for this season.

A pair of seniors Kaylee Gilchriest and Abby Koester are joined by junior Christina Hubert, sophomore Madison Ricker, and freshmen Maggie Pothast, Autumn Calvelage, Piper Osenga, and Morgan Siefker to round out the orange and black roster.

Looking at the possibilities for this season and how his team will operate O’Connor remarked “Under my first year as varsity coach for the Fort Jennings Lady Musketeers, we are excited to get the season started. We will be doing a spread motion offense when we have the ball. We will be concentrating on a man-to-man principle defense. We will be working hard to have a successful season full of growth.”

Fort Jennings opens their season on Friday, November 19th with a back-to-back weekend to kick off the season against Temple Christian and a Saturday night visit to Lima’s Lappin Gymnasium to battle Shawnee.

Tuesday, November 23rd the Musketeers kick off a four game home stand with Lima Central Catholic kicking off visits by Bluffton and league foes Leipsic and Ottoville.
